The resolutions, diet plans,
and exercises are good,
don’t get me wrong, but what
we need most is enthusiasm,
a word from the Greeks meaning
“to be inspired by God”
and that means we need to be
receptive, even people like us,
the most macho of guys.
And what could be more dangerous
than opening oneself to God’s will?
We may be inspired to
do better what we do best.
