Did you know that water is the only substance in the universe that EXPANDS when it freezes? Good old h2o.

Good one! Do you know the work of Bruce Cockburn? This one reminds me of your poetry:

THE AUTHOR RESPONDED:

Thanks for your comments to last week’s prayer. Reading it again, it sounds almost Buddhist, though I meant it more as a statement of how we can think we are different from others when, with a little heat, we are just like them.

Craig: I found the following on the Internet, so it must be true: "Bismuth and antimony also expand when they freeze, as do some alloys that contain those metals. This is why bismuth and antimony are used in type-metal, which can be molded with great accuracy: The metal does not shrink as it solidifies, so it does not pull away from the corners and edges of the mold.”

Bill: Bruce Cockburn was a favorite of a little home church I belonged to in 1981 and 1982 when I was going through my first divorce, especially his song “Coldest Night of the Year”. See: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Mwc43Fd9DY Good to see a musician have such a long and productive career! And, if you are comparing my work to his, maybe I can do as well in 35 years.
