The sun's thermonuclear fusion blazes away,
safely secure at the center of our solar system.
Closer to us, 45 million times closer,
yet miles above us, the clouds
at sunset look like flames,
but there is no smoke, no fire.
There is no need for alarm,
only awe, wonder, and thanksgiving.
