As long as we have ten car lengths
empty in front of us, we feel free,
unimpeded and unfettered,
our cares left behind
as our cars leap ahead.
Lord, we know there will be
stop lights and toll booths,
traffic jams and pile ups.
Thank you for moments like these
when every road, every possibility,
seems ours to explore.
