Don’t tell me “No”.
I remember as a child, the month before Christmas,
sitting on the floor, circling items in the Sears Roebuck catalog.
I remember the hope, the bubbling expectation,
that what was illustrated would be mine.
And because someone loved me,
yes, presents were under the tree.
Even now, at times,
that joyous hope springs up,
and once again I trust that
Someone loves me and will provide,
that wishes will be granted,
and not just at Christmas.!
