The WALK sign says we have 20 seconds
to cross the intersection, so we start.
Imagine us caught in the middle
when the impatient drivers
see green and gun it!

Is death, too, impatient?
How many seconds do we have left?
Not knowing makes some
of us hurry; others, wary.
You and I?
Let's go now while
we have the light.
