Love comes easily if we see what's good:
puppies and babies, if they are cute,
children, if they are bright and playful,
friends, if they are funny or listen,
sometimes, even ourselves, if . . . .
Good Lord, fill our hearts with a love free of ifs,
not a love blind to faults,
but a love that sees
what yearns to be.
